According to EV Volumes and Autovista24, Europe’s EV market maintained robust growth in Q2 2025, with sales reaching 948,203 units, up 27.4% year-on-year. For the first half of the year, sales totaled 1,796,162 units, a 23.8% increase compared with 2024. Plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) accounted for 34.4% of the market, while battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) made up 65.6%.
Germany continued to dominate with a 21.5% share, up 2.7 percentage points from a year earlier, followed by the UK at 18.5%. France ranked third with 11.2% but declined versus last year, while Spain rose to 5.9%, showing strong growth momentum. The Netherlands secured fifth place with 5.6%, slightly lower than in 2024. The data suggests a diverging trend: Germany and the UK are consolidating their lead, while Spain and other emerging markets are catching up.
