Indonesia’s July New Car Sales Rankings Released, BYD and Chery Enter Top 10

According to Gaowei Consulting data, Indonesia’s wholesale car sales in July 2025 totaled 60,552 units, down 18.3% year-on-year. Cumulative sales from January to July declined 10.1% to 435,390 units, reflecting continued pressure on overall market demand.
At the brand level, Toyota’s wholesale sales dropped by 30.3% year-on-year, but it still held the top spot with a 31.2% market share. Daihatsu and Suzuki ranked second and third respectively. Chinese brands performed outstandingly. BYD ranked sixth with a 3.9% market share, Chery ranked ninth with 2.6%, and Wuling, Denza, Aion, Geely, MG also made it into the top 20.

In the EV segment, January–July wholesale sales of BEVs totaled 42,178 units (9.7% share), while PHEVs accounted for 2,088 units (0.5%). Overall, rechargeable EV penetration reached 10.2%, dominated by Chinese brands, with BYD, Chery, and Denza leading the market.

在新能源细分市场,1至7月纯电动车批发销量为42,178辆,占总销量的9.7%;插电混动销量为2,088辆,占比0.5%。整体可充电电动车市场渗透率达到10.2%,且由中国品牌主导,其中比亚迪、奇瑞和腾势位居前三。
